Stone Bruise
Stone Bruise - as the name implies, occurs when
you take a hard step on a rock or other pointed object. Sometimes
you feel the pain instantly and other times you may not notice
it until the next day. It will feel like a bruise on the
back portion of your heel. The painful spot is usually easy
to poke and is located deep to the pad of the heel, on the back
outside corner.
Treatments:
- See Principles of Recovery.
- A heel cup is great for this condition. My favorite is the Tulli's heel cup that can be found in many sporting goods and drug stores.
It not only provides cushioning, it also helps to cradle the
heel’s
natural padding.
