The Injured Runner - A Balanced Solution

DVD

Recover from injury!

Restore muscular balance!

and

Run Pain Free!

"A Balanced Solution" presents the most specific program available for runners to develop core stability, strength, balance and flexibility - key elements to recovering from and preventing injury.

SPECIFICITY

The exercises selected for The Injured Runner – A Balanced Solution replicate the arcs of motion and types of muscle contractions used in running. It is the most specific exercise routine available for runners. It will help you more quickly and completely recover from an injury and prevent future injury.

CORE STABILITY

Your trunk is the control center for your lower body. Core stability is the foundation for all sport activity – especially running.

STRENGTH

Recent research has made significant breakthroughs in demonstrating the effectiveness of strengthening for running injuries. Strengthening is often the missing link in a runner’s training and recovery program.

BALANCE

Running is a series of controlled falls. Balance training can improve the control and efficiency of each step. Muscular balance is also essential. This program is designed to strengthen all of the muscles used while running and restore balance to your muscular system.

FLEXIBILITY

You don’t have to talk to many runners to learn that stretching tight muscles is a key component to injury prevention and gently stretching an injured area can speed recovery.

In just 3 weeks I cannot believe what a difference it has made in my rehab. I have been, of course, employing a mulitude of therapies including ART, acupuncture, nutritional changes, X training but I think your strengthening exercises have made the most tangible and significant difference. Thanks again - your DVD is the best $20 I ever spent.

For years, the primary emphasis in treating runners has been the use of orthotics and stretching.   While these are certainly important, there is more, much more!

Cross Country Team is Injury Free!

The Mesa State Cross Country Team of Grand Junction, Colorado has just completed its first injury free season. Team members were evaluated at the beginning of the season to assess leg and trunk strength / endurance. Several of the harriers were amazed to see the imbalances they had developed from previous injuries or not performing appropriate core training. Based on the test results each member implemented the exercises presented in the DVD “The Injured Runner – A Balanced Solution” to restore muscular balance. Coach Gig Leadbetter reported “We have not had an injury since beginning this program and our training program is the same – none of those hip or IT band problems that plagued us last year.”

Testimonials

"I am stoked about getting this DVD as I have looked high and low for a good source to help me do the right things to put my running back together. I am on the back end of a really nasty case of Plantar Fascitis and have been trying to put together a good rehab program to keep it from EVER coming back! I am confident that the right exercises and stretching routine can keep this from reoccurring, but I just didn't have the information. Yours looks to be the best for a runner as you can bet I have looked at about ever place imaginable to figure this injury out. I am an Ironman triathlete who will not take no for an answer!! Can't wait to put this into action.Told my other banged up tri geek buds about it too, we all need to get well right about now and set up a better season with the proper rehab and protocol."

Dear Bryan,

I had to take a minute to write you about your Injured Runner rehab program. In just 3 weeks I cannot believe what a difference it has made in my rehab. I have been, of course, employing a mulitude of therapies including ART, acupuncture, nutritional changes, X training but I think your strengthening exercises have made the most tangible and significant difference. I saw my orthopedic surgeon yesterday (my injury was a proximal high hamstring tear) and I am now his go - to girl to talk with other running patients with similiar injuries. I have given him your web site and told him about the DVD.

I ran 40 miles last week with a 10 mile long run which seems like a dream. I am being very conservative with pace and will be for quite awhile working just on base miles but I am now confident that I will be able to compete at National and World Track Championships in Aug. and Sept.

Thanks again - your DVD is the best $20 I ever spent.

"I recently received The Injured Runner DVD and plan to continue using it for injury prevention. I am a 'maturing' runner who hopes to continue running for a many years. I have had an ITB injury as well as a stress fracture and this DVD is exactly what I need to help me do the stretches and exercises necessary if I want to continue to run injury free."

Thanks for your very caring and prompt reply. I had a chronic injury that I thought was medial collateral ligament - and when I finally went to the ortho, it is actually hamstring!!! I did the intro section which is excellent and began the 1st level This is an excellent dvd and I regret I didn't find out about it until the day I placed my order.
I have to tell you I spoke to a friend and mentioned my issues and recommended your dvd. She's had one for 2 weeks. When I started blasting her for not telling me, turns out her daughter found out about it and sent one to her. She agrees your dvd is excellent.

Thanks again.

Last May, I first e-mailed you and talked to you on the phone about a tough hamstring injury. It had gotten so irritated that I couldn't run at all, even after conventional PT here where I live. So, I purchased the Balanced Solution DVD and later the Kettlebell and Yoga DVDs. I'M READY TO DO THE TESTIMONIAL!!! I am 63 years old, have been running for over 34 years, have run somewhere between 60,000 and 70,000 miles and I had never had any kind of hamstring injury until last spring. I did the Balanced Solution 5 or 6 times a week for approx. 3 - 4 months. I cross trained at first, then started running gradually (followed your schedule to return to running). I have recovered from the hamstring injury and now I have focused on (gradually) increasing distance and speed. Although I ran 7 days a week for 30 years, I'm not running every day now, but I am now doing the kettlebell workout twice a week on non-running days. I still continue to do the Balanced Solution 3 or 4 times per week. My basic runs are approx. 45 min., but once a week I go longer and I've worked up to 70+ min. I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH what the Balanced Solution has done for my running. I haven't done much with the yoga yet, but I hope to work that in to my schedule.

THANK YOU for everything

Dave, VT
